Episcopal Day School of Christ Reviews

My daughter attended EDS after attending a different private school in the area. Comparing the two I have found the style of teaching and the academics to be behind her previous school. My other child will not be attending EDS. I much prefer a school that does not have the 'inner city school' surroundings.

Although I believe my children are receiving an excellent education, I am thrilled that they are learning so much more. I have been a parent at EDS for four years but I spent last year as a teacher's aide at the school. We loved EDS and I was a little afraid the rose-colored glasses would be shattered. Of course, any school is going to have minor issues but I still think it is the very best place for my children. One day I was leaving school and passed the janitor sitting on the hall floor with a kindergartener teaching her to tie her shoes. It was a perfect example of the loving environment my children are immersed in every day. I am so happy to have found such a great place for my children to learn and grow.

I have had a negative experience at EDS and this forum allows one to share that information. Not only did I withdraw my child after deciding the principal was more concerned and loyal to her staff than to the students. The choices are limited, but I would look elsewhere if strong leadership and a positive role model is important to you.

Episcopal Day School is a great blend of strong academics and gentle spirituality. My children have loved the teachers, been challenged by the curriculum, and have been very comfortable in their school setting here at EDS. They have had many opportunities to be involved in service projects, sports and other clubs. Parent involvement is high, and encouraged. We have loved EDS for our children!

I think Episcopal Day School is the best non-public school in NW Florida. My two children attended from K-3 through 8th grades and received an accelerated, quality education; learned how to study and be accountable for themselves; had a loving environment in which to learn about God; and became excellent writers. The arts programs (visual and music) and technology education are fabulous. My children were safe and happy learners. This school helped me raise my kids to be morally grounded in a positive, loving manner. 'Love God and your neighbor' was taught and lived by the staff and faculty. This school has an expereinced and strong administration, and is not 'parent driven'; it therefore has stability. Both my kids went into accelerated classes in high school and graduated with college credits. I feel their foundation came from EDS, as they went into high school very well prepared, from academics to decision-making.
