“I have 3 daughters that attend Eglin Elementary. 1 is in Oakhill and the other two at Cherokee. I have to say that we liked when the schools were not combined. Oakhill I would have given 9 out of 10 stars, and only a 9 because of the way the children were punished for another students choices. Now that the school has split, I still like Oakhill, but Cherokee is not very good. The teachers my girls have are excellent in both schools, but the shool is completely run down, and the principal is horrible!”

“I am very disappointed with this school and transferred my daughter out of it with only three months left. The principal does not interact with the students and/or parents. I had called the school on a situation and nobody ever handled my concern. The lunch room is not a happy environment for the children either. I know this after going there one day a week for 6 months and eating lunch with my child. If a child needs help opening up something or has a question, the cafeteria aides act as if they are 'bothered.' This school does not make the children feel 'special' and is not a caring one. Academically, I feel that it's ok but my daughter's new school is much more challenging. My child is extremely happy now going to her new school each day and is still making straight A's.”

My child has really enjoyed his transition and I speak highly of his teacher(s) and the Principal. Thank for your hard work and dedication. Please continue to strive high as you do already!!”

“We had a horrible experience at Cherokee and as a result my child attends Saint Mary's School. We are much happier.The principal was unresponsive to concerns several of us voiced over a school bully, the teacher disorganized, we would get letters home for activities the day of the activity a couple times after the activity occurred, the only extra activates we heard of was scouts and an occasional conference.”

“I have 3 children who attend this school,1-K, 1-2nd, and 1-3rd. The K teacher is very unorganized and needs help but is nice and cheerful the 2nd is great I have no problems but the 3rd is adhd and has a hard time with learning and I feel needs more help I am very involved and have been from day one. The adhd teachers need more research and refrences.”
